The Road Transport Department (JPJ) in Malaysia will be collaborating with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) to address the issue of 'cosmetic agents' who offer rental tyres to commercial vehicle owners to help them pass Puspakom inspections. JPJ Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli contacted KPDN Director-General of Enforcement Datuk Azman Adam to discuss the matter, with meetings planned for next week. Both parties aim to examine jurisdictional areas and find solutions to curb this unethical practice.

“Let us discuss with first, then we can issue a statement. We haven’t had the discussion yet and don’t know the outcome of it. The discussion will be held this week ,” Azman was quoted as saying. The road transport department plans to collaborate with KPDN in addressing the issue, Aedy Fadly said. “We will discuss and look into which areas of jurisdiction can be further examined, that’s what we need to look into in detail. However, has no authority to enter these premises, so we will discuss this with the ministry,” he said in anagainst owners of commercial vehicles who rent tyres from “cosmetic agents” so their vehicles can pass inspections at its centres.
