Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has expressed disappointment over delays in launching two key national digital initiatives, the MyDigital ID and the second 5G network. He noted that the rollout of MyDigital ID is a year behind schedule and that negotiations for the additional 5G network have not received a positive response from Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) and telecom companies. Anwar described these delays as negligent and hindering Malaysia's digital transformation agenda.
The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of accelerating these projects as Malaysia prepares to chair ASEAN next year, emphasizing the need for a strong digital infrastructure
