Malaysian stocks rose for the third consecutive session Monday, with the benchmark FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI FBMKLCI, +1.02% gaining 1.0% to 1,464.67.
Petronas Dagangan 5681, -0.53%, an energy firm, posted the largest decline, dropping 0.5%, followed by shares of company Petronas Gas 6033, -0.47%, which fell 0.5%. Shares of financial services company Hong Leong Finl Grp 1082, -0.45% dropped 0.4%. Elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index HSI, +1.71% gained 1.7%, while the NIKKEI 225 Index NIK, +2.37% of Japanese companies added 2.4%. The Shanghai Composite Index SHCOMP, +0.91% of Chinese companies increased 0.9%.
