PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Women's team suffered another heavy defeat in the AFF Women's Championship when they went down 0-4 to Thailand in the Group A match at the Binan Football Stadium in the Philippines on Sunday (July 10).
The Malaysian team, captained by Steffi Sidhu, found it hard to achieve their objective of getting a point against the two-time World Cup qualifiers.
Thailand's goals were scored by Ploychompoo Somnuek , Pattaranan Aupachai , U-Raiporn Yongkul and Nutwadee Pram-Nak .Malaysia remain fourth in the group with two points. The Philippines are the first side from the group to qualify for the semi-finals after collecting 12 points. The second spot is between Thailand and Australia, as the former has 10 points in second, while the latter with seven in third.
