Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah will make the pledge at the UN Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva.
A - Malaysia will pledge US$100,000 at the United Nations Human Rights Council meeting in Geneva to address the humanitarian needs of the people of Yemen, Wisma Putra said today. It said in a statement that Foreign Minister Saifuddin Abdullah would attend the High-Level Segment of the 40th Regular Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva today and tomorrow.
The UN Human Rights Council is the principal intergovernmental body within the UN system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights. Wisma Putra said Saifuddin would expound on the Malaysian government's policy on the protection and promotion of human rights in Malaysia during the High-Level Segment of the Human Rights Council.
