Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced plans for several mega projects in the agriculture sector, including a massive rice plantation project with an overall value of RM5 billion. The government aims to increase rice production and improve the livelihoods of farmers.
: Kerajaan merancang beberapa projek mega dalam sektor pertanian termasuk projek raksasa tanaman padi fasa pertama, dengan nilai keseluruhan projek berjumlah RM5 bilion, kata Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“Maka, tumpuan diberikan KPKM dengan fokus terhadap peningkatan pengeluaran padi beras negara,” katanya ketika berucap merasmikan Pameran Pertanian Hortikultur dan Agropelancongan Malaysia 2024 di Taman Ekspo Pertanian Malaysia di sini hari ini. Anwar juga mahu semua kementerian dan agensi untuk bekerja sebagai satu pasukan bagi menjamin produktiviti pengeluaran makanan negara tercapai.
“Bagaimana kita mahu gerakkan masyarakat, termasuk golongan petani, pesawah, nelayan untuk juga terima perubahan ini, dan melonjakkan hasil dengan baik,” katanya.
