Since the enforcement of the Control of Tobacco Product for Public Health Act 2024 began on October 1, the Ministry of Health (KKM) has issued 5,642 compounds to individuals for smoking in prohibited locations. As of December 17, the total value of the compounds issued reached RM1,370,500, covering three sections under the Act. The Ministry also revealed that 1,316 'hotspots' for smoking offenses have been identified, with Selangor having the highest number at 506 locations, followed by Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya (212), Johor (188), and Penang (117).
PUTRAJAYA: Sejumlah 5,642 individu dikompaun Kementerian Kesihatan di seluruh negara kerana kesalahan merokok secara terbuka di lokasi yang dilarang.
“Setakat 17 Disember lalu, kita sudah pun mengeluarkan kompaun bernilai RM1,370,500 yang melibatkan tiga seksyen di bawah Akta 852 itu,” katanya ketika ditemui pemberita selepas melancarkan laman sesawang JomLapor yang dibangunkan oleh KKM di sini hari ini. Mengulas lanjut, Dzulkefly berkata, sehingga kelmarin sejumlah 1,316 ‘hotspot’ untuk kes kesalahan merokok dikenal pasti dengan Selangor paling tinggi dengan 506 lokasi diikuti, Kuala Lumpur dan Putrajaya dengan merekodkan 212 lokasi, manakala Johor pula 188 dan Pulau Pinang 117 lokasi.
