Malaysia, Indonesia commit to creation of friendly fishing waters
Malaysia and Indonesia agree to only deport and not arrest fishermen found fishing in their waters. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, December 27, 2022.
The decision was reached in a virtual meeting between the Malaysian National Security Council and Indonesia’s Maritime Security Agency recently. In addition to improving good bilateral cooperation, the meeting also increased the conduciveness of activities related to the handling of “Unresolved Maritime Boundaries” incidents in their respective waters.
