The Malaysia High Commission in Singapore fully utilizes the celebration of Aidilfitri to promote the country's traditional food and culture. Through the Traditional Malaysian Food and Culture Promotion Program launched today, the high commission serves various dishes such as chicken and beef rendang, satay, lemang, nasi impit, roti canai, teh tarik, and various traditional desserts to over 200 guests at the Malaysia House here. The program is in line with Malaysia's intention to list the country's traditional food as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

“Makanan tradisi yang disediakan oleh petugas-petugas di suruhanjaya ini selain tukang masak yang dibawa dari Malaysia adalah makanan tradisi yang dinikmati oleh segenap lapisan masyarakat majmuk di Malaysia dan kita harap program seperti ini dapat mempromosi makanan kita di persada antarabangsa,” katanya kepada Bernama.
“Untuk program ini kami menggunakan 30 kilogram daging lembu dan terpaksa dua kali masak sebab kuantiti yang disediakan adalah banyak, sehingga 3 pagi tadi baru selesai.
