PETALING JAYA: Malaysia have failed to make the knockout stage of the AFC Under-17 Asian Cup.
The side coached by Osmera Omaro were humbled 0-3 by home side Thailand in their second Group A encounter of the Asian meet at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok on Sunday.The hosts are through to the knockout stage together with Yemen as both sides have six points from two matches.As for Malaysia, it was their second successive defeat as they had earlier lost to Yemen 0-4.
With two defeats in a row, Malaysia’s hopes of making the knockout stage have been dashed but Osmera wants his players to continue working hard.“We had some injuries and some players were unwell. We need to regroup for the next match . Every time we lose, it’s a disappointment.”
