Memorandum persefahaman itu membabitkan komitmen China untuk tambahan import minyak sawit negara sebanyak 1.9 juta tan.
PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia dan China menandatangani memorandum persefahaman untuk tempoh 5 tahun yang dianggarkan bernilai RM4.56 bilion bagi meningkatkan dagangan sawit dan pelaburan industri sawit negara.
“Malaysia mempunyai banyak pilihan dalam pengukuhan pasaran sedia ada dan pasaran baru. Umpamanya, 3 syarikat China sudah menandatangani dokumen hasrat pembelian dengan 4 syarikat Malaysia bagi mengimport 1.62 juta tan minyak sawit bernilai RM3.64 bilion tahun ini. Teresa berkata, di samping mengukuhkan pasaran sawit sedia ada, kementerian mengambil langkah mengenal pasti pasaran baru yang berpotensi seperti di benua Afrika, Timur Tengah dan Eropah Timur.
