Malaysia, China kukuh pembangunan infrastruktur rel ASEAN

KUALA LUMPUR: Hubungan diplomatik Malaysia-China yang memasuki usia 50 tahun terus diperkukuh melalui kerjasama ekonomi dan pembangunan infrastruktur penting, khususnya dalam meningkatkan kesalinghubungan rel di rantau ASEAN.

“Dalam perbincangan bersama negara jiran seperti Thailand dan Laos, Malaysia memberi tumpuan kepada penyelesaian isu prosedur kastam di sempadan yang masih menjadi cabaran utama bagi pergerakan barang melalui rel,” katanya dalam sidang akhabr sempena Persidangan Malaysia-China 2024. Anthony turut menekankan kepentingan projek mega seperti Laluan Rel Pantai Timur yang dijangka menjadi pemangkin utama kepada pembangunan ekonomi negara.

“Kerajaan akan memastikan dasar dan inisiatif yang ada dapat dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya agar sistem pengangkutan rel kita menjadi lebih komprehensif,” tambahnya.
