Malaysia among top gainers of US-China trade war
The Donald Trump administration has been engaged in acrimonious rhetoric with Beijing since trade negotiations broke down early last month over Washington’s accusations that China has backtracked on commitments to enact new laws on intellectual property and technology transfer practices. – EPA pic, June 4, 2019.
MALAYSIA, along with Vietnam, Taiwan, Chile, and Argentina stands to gain most from the trade war between super economies US and China, which shows no sign of abating, The Edge Market reports. Quoting the Nomura Global Markets Research report, it said Malaysia is the fourth largest beneficiary of trade diversions arising from the frictions as the two feuding nations seek import substitutions.
