Institut Virologi Wuhan mengakui mempunyai 3 jenis atau strain Covid-19 didapati daripada kelawar di makmalnya.Ia diakui oleh pengarahnya dalam satu temu bual yang direkodkan pada 13 Mei lalu tetapi disiarkan stesen penyiaran tempatan, CGTV, pada Sabtu lepas

“Kita memiliki 3 jenis atau strain Covid-19… tetapi persamaan dengan SARS-CoV-2 hanya 79.8%,” katanya merujuk kepada koronavirus yang menyebabkan Covid-19.Salah satu pasukan penyelidik di institut itu yang diketuai oleh Prof Shi Zhengli sudah melakukan kejadian mengenai koronavirus daripada kelawar sejak 2004.

“Kita tahu bahawa penjujukan DNA bagi SARS-CoV-2 adalah 80 peratus sama dengan SARS. Oleh itu, ia sama sekali berbeza,” katanya.
