Vegetables are a staple item on any grocery list. However, consumers often keep them stored in the refrigerator for future use, which dietitians claim could decline the veggies’ nutritional value. Luckily, there are some methods to help keep vegetables fresh and healthy.
First on the list is to avoid washing the produce until it’s time to use them. Water can sometimes lead to spoilage and bacteria growth. Dry them with a paper towel before storing them in an air-tight container. Placing a paper towel at the bottom of the container before adding the vegetables could also help reduce any leftover water or moisture.
The containers also play a vital role in keeping vegetables fresh.
