Leena Gupta is among at least 600,000 voters who remain unsure about who to vote for in the NSW election, according to research firm Freshwater Strategy., Ms Gupta, 51, lives in the safe Liberal seat of Manly with her husband and four children. With less than a week until polling day she has not made up her mind because incumbent MP Environment Minister James Griffin had not shown he’d listened to community feedback, she said.

Her sentiment represents many voters who remain undecided, according to a recent poll by Freshwater Strategy forOf those undecideds, the vast majority voted for Gladys Berejiklian’s Coalition government in 2019, according to the poll. By comparison, just 27 per cent of the undecideds voted for then-opposition leader Michael Daley.

Another factor for voter indecision was that both Mr Perrottet and Opposition Leader Christopher Minns were “largely untested leaders” relative to party leaders from previous elections.
