Mahkota istimewa hiasi pertabalan Raja Charles III

Mahkota St Edward hanya digunakan untuk upacara pertabalan dan kali terakhir dipakai pada 1953 oleh mendiang ibunya, Ratu Elizabeth II.

LONDON: Raja Charles III akan memakai Mahkota St Edward yang bertatahkan permata terbaik dunia sempena Istiadat Pertabalan di Westminster Abbey esok.

Mahkota emas itu dihiasi batu permata berharga termasuk delima, amethyst dan nilam dengan balutan kain baldu ungu. “Ia benar-benar simbol suci kewibawaan monarki,” kata Ketua Eksekutif Jenama barang kemas Le Vian, Eddie. Raja Britain itu juga akan memakai Mahkota Diraja Negara yang kali terakhir dilihat pada upacara pengebumian Ratu Elizabeth II pada September tahun lalu.Tahun ini merupakan kali pertama dalam tempoh hampir tiga abad mahkota berkenaan digunakan untuk pertabalan Ratu Consort.
