A 2.8 earthquake gave the East Bay a brief shake Friday morning, the USGS said.
A magnitude 2.8 earthquake with an epicenter in El Cerrito shook the East Bay on Friday, March 11, 2022.reported. The shaker's epicenter was in the Hillside Natural Area in the town of El Cerrito, preliminary reports indicated.
The quake was recorded at 9:44 a.m. It had a depth of 3 miles. Shortly after the earthquake, 133 people reported feeling it to the USGS. There was no initial word on damage or injury, though quakes between magnitude 2.5 and 3 are usually the smallest quakes felt by people.
