JOHOR BARU, April 14 — A Mack truck, belonging to the Johor royal family, was involved in an accident at Kilometre 18.8, along the southbound route of the North-South Expressway, yesterday.
Kulai police chief Superintendent Tok Beng Yeow said the district’s traffic personnel received information about the incident at 6.50pm. “The accident involved a Mack truck belonging to the Johor royal family and two other cars. The truck was heading southbound on the expressway. “Preliminary investigations at the scene of the incident found that the accident likely happened when the truck lost control due to a burst tyre,” he said in a statement today.“The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 ,” he said. The Mack truck brand from Australia is synonymous with Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, who is a known automotive aficionado.
In 2015, Sultan Ibrahim was credited as being the owner of the most expensive Mack truck in the world after images of his purported vehicle were leaked. It is understood that this was not the vehicle involved in yesterday’s incident.Kembara Mahkota Johor
