Anti-graft agency chief says she has yet to receive any formal complaints on reports on the matter.
The MACC will conduct investigations into recent claims that the MyKad was being sold to Chinese nationals in Penang if there is clear evidence regarding the case.
"We have not received any formal complaints...so we are looking into it, if the syndicate does exist, we will start investigating, because cases involving the sale of identity cards or issuance of false identity cards are not a new thing. Latheefa said however, the MACC did not rely solely on official information, and could act without any complaints being lodged if there were strong grounds to do so.
