KUALA LUMPUR: The widow of Tun Daim Zainuddin is urging the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to cease its investigation into her late husband as he has been acquitted.
“Section 23 of the MACC Act pertains to the misuse of office or position for personal gratification. The MACC is also investigating a money trail overseas. “If no offence has been committed, then any assets held in Malaysia or elsewhere are lawful and the fruits of hard work,” she said in a statement yesterday.
“Since mid-2023, Daim had written repeatedly to the MACC chief commissioner seeking clarification on the alleged offence.
