PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) has found no wrongdoing by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for allegedly offering government-linked company (GLC) positions in exchange for political support, says Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

“The results of the investigation found that there was no wrongdoing elements under the MACC Act 2009 ,” he said in a written reply in Parliament on Wednesday .

Teo Nie Ching had asked about the status of MACC’s investigation into the audio recording of Muhyiddin allegedly offering positions in GLCs in exchange for political support. Separately, Teo had also asked about the status of the investigation into Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman and Kuala Langat MP Dr Xavier Jayakumar.“The results of the investigation have found no evidence of abuse of power and corruption that took place,” he said.“MACC is unable to divulge the details of the investigation,” he said.

Former Prasarana non-executive chairman Tajuddin was investigated by the MACC in connection with claims of abuse of power. Dr Xavier, the former water, land and natural resources minister, was investigated by MACC following the arrest of his close associate MA Tinagaran.
