PUTRAJAYA: The MACC has been granted four more days to hold a chief executive officer who is being questioned over allegations of accepting money in return for projects.
The 45-year-old CEO will be remanded until May 20 after Magistrate Shah Wira Abdul Halim approved MACC prosecutors’ request for an extension.
It is learnt that investigators had raided the house of the CEO on Wednesday and seized several luxury handbags and a sizeable amount of cash in different foreign currencies. The company’s chief financial officer, who on May 13 was remanded together with the CEO, was released. The two were remanded as graft investigators probe into alleged bribery in awarding projects to supply equipment for military armoured vehicles valued at RM17mil.
Sources said the two allegedly received hundreds of thousands of ringgit in kickbacks in connection with projects to supply equipment for the military's AV8 and Adnan carriers sometime between 2014 and 2017.Related News
