QR codes for restaurant orders have since been implemented to utilise digital convenience. A Malaysian woman, Zeeda Aziz, recently reminded all food vendors
After the Covid-19 pandemic, digital transactions became the norm, and people around the world are still doing them today. It’s not only convenient but also safer .
to implement QR codes for ordering.Zeeda recently visited a restaurant where customers must order through QR codes. However, her data connection was weak in the area, so she requested the restaurant’s WiFi password.“If you want to use our WiFi, place your order first.” On usual days, Zeeda said she would’ve left the place and looked for someplace else to eat. Fortunately, the food at the restaurant was delicious. Regardless, as a paying customer, Zeeda was NOT happy with how the server handled the situation.
“If you don’t want customers to use your WiFi, don’t use QR codes. Come to our tables, take our orders physcially. Did you think I was there just to use your WiFi connection?”In her post, Zeeda also mentioned that she brought up the matter with the workers there, and it’s up to them to decide whether to take action. Zeeda also suggested providing pencils and order sheets on the table, so the customer can conveniently jot down their orders for the servers’ references.
“To all food business owners, sometimes, no one casts black magic at your shop. You’re just not good at reading the facial expression of upset customers.”What do you think of QR code ordering? Do you prefer digital ordering, or would you prefer to bring back the physical menu? Also read: “Only cash” – Senior Citizen Food Vendors in Ramadhan Bazaar Lose Customers Due to Absence of QR Codes
