SINGAPORE: A practising lawyer found himself standing sheepishly in the dock of the State Courts on Wednesday (Nov 6), after an alcohol-fuelled night out at Zouk nightclub in 2022.
PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has strongly condemned an attack by Israeli forces on a United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon vehicle which directly impacted the Malaysian Battalion , says Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil .
He said the attack, which injured six Malbatt personnel, has sparked grave concern as it affects Malaysia’s peacekeeping troops in the region. According to Fahmi, the Cabinet meeting on Friday discussed the incident in which an Israeli strike targeted a vehicle near a bus transporting Malbatt personnel.“The Malaysian government unequivocally condemns the brutal actions of the Israeli Zionist regime, which are utterly unacceptable,” he told a press conference here.
He said Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Khaled Nordin will address any additional measures to be taken later.He said Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to its peacekeepers within Unifil underscores its call for an end to violence in the region, as the safety of UN peacekeeping personnel remains a priority.Earlier, Khaled said the government has a contingency plan in case the situation in southern Lebanon worsens and Unifil decides to withdraw because of Israel's aggressive actions.
