TELUK INTAN: Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said Malaysia held talks with Indian representatives over the country’s white rice export restrictions to overcome the shortage.
“The Indian Prime Minister has sent representatives to discuss the issue on a government-to-government basis.
He said the ministry would also discuss with the Sarawak and Sabah governments about developing more padi fields in the states to ensure sufficient and balanced rice supplies.He said increasing its yield to address the country’s needs was crucial.
