LETTER | Two eminent ones have confirmed Lynas is 'fully compliant with internationally accepted exposure limits'.
| Two eminent scientists have spoken out following incorrect statements recently reported in the media about Lynas Malaysia’s operations.
“Uranium-238 and Thorium-232 will always remain as naturally occurring radionuclides, even after a physical or chemical extraction process. “Internationally accepted levels of radiation exposure are governed by the limits of exposures. A radiation worker may receive up to 20 mSv/year while the public may receive a dose not exceeding 1 mSv/y. Precautionary Principles are integrated in determining dose limits.”
