The erstwhile NBA assistant got caught in Steph’s wrath.
The son of Hall of Famer Bill Walton, Luke Walton has had an uneven career as a coach in the NBA. He was an assistant with Golden State from 2014 to 2016, winning a title with the team in 2015. With Steve Kerr recovering from a back injury, Walton led the Warriors as interim head coach to a record 24 straight wins to open the 2015-16 season.
Following the heels of his success as an interim head coach, Walton was named head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers from 2016 to 2019 but missed the playoffs every year despite the team signing LeBron James in 2018. He then became head coach of the Sacramento Kings but could not get the team into contention and was fired at the beginning of last season.
