The Qantas flight attendant brought fellow crewmates to tears for the way he looked after a seriously ill passenger.
Three weeks ago, an elderly man dying of dementia flew with his wife from Sydney to their son’s home in Switzerland via Singapore for one final visit before he passed away.alongside his 26-year-old partner Jesse Baird in Baird’s Paddington home on February 19, was also on the aircraft.The elderly man’s loved ones knew the flight would be among his last moments in the sky. Davies, however, did not.
“The wife had told him had severe dementia, and she was really saddened by it because she kept saying he was the most beautiful husband and kindest man, and she was losing him to this cruel disease,” she said. “She was so anxious the entire time, and Luke was able to support not only herself but the husband and make sure she was able to get the rest she needed before their next 14-hour flight to London because she was his full-time carer.”
Laying flowers at the Paddington terrace house where Davies and Baird were allegedly murdered by serving NSW police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon, Manning described her friend as having “a beautiful soul, the kindest heart a cheeky side”.“He would give anyone the shirt off his back.”
