Lucas Ribeiro Costa has become the latest Brazilian to play for Mamelodi Sundowns.
Costa has arrived at Chloorkop thin on topflight football experience after six years playing in Europe.The 24-year-old came through the development ranks of Brazilian club Esporte Clube Pinheiros before moving to the reserve team of Valenciennes in France in July 2017. After two years at Valenciennes, Costa went across the border to Belgium where he found home at Royal Excelsior Virton in the second-tier league before stints at Chaleroi SC, RWD Molenbeek, Royal Excel Mouscron, and SK Beveren.
"I think there has recently been an outcry about fans not coming to games in South Africa but in Costa I see someone that fans will looking forward to watching."He is the kind of Brazilian player that South African needs and is definitely a perfect signing for Sundowns."What will make it easier for him is the presence of all the other South Americans at Sundowns.
