A transport group on Wednesday called on the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to study a possible fare adjustment following the recent increase in fuel prices.
Interviewed on GMA News’ Unang Balita, Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines national president Boy Rebaño said LTFRB should make a decision based on its own Memorandum Circular No. 2019-035.
“Ang sinasabi ko po sana, araling mabuti ng ating gobyerno, lalung-lalo na 'yung pamunuan ng LTFRB sa kasalukuyan, 'yung memorandum na inilabas po ng previous administration. 'Yan po 'yung Memorandum Circular 2019-035. Baka sakali po kung sakaling mapag-aaralan po nila ay sila po dapat magdesisyon kung paano po magkakaroon ng adjustment sa pamasahe,” he said.covering the automatic fare adjustment system for public utility vehicles .

The price movement resulted in the year-to-date total adjustments to stand at a net increase of P13.95/liter for gasoline, P27.50/liter for diesel, and P20.80/liter for kerosene, according to the Department of Energy.
