The cooperatives are for operators to afford the purchase of modern jeeps worth at least P2.6 million each via loans from financial institutions. Only the traditional jeeps of operators who are in the process of transitioning into a cooperative or corporation will be exempted from the June 30 deadline.“Siyempre hindi naman tayo papayag na walang masasakyan ang tao. Ia-address ng board yan," Bolano said.Some drivers of traditional jeeps said they might have to look for other sources of livelihood once their franchise expires.
