The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) will be suspending its operations from April 6 to April 9 in observance of the Holy Week, the train management announced Monday.
In its social media accounts, the Light Rail Transit Authority said it will also conduct maintenance on LRT-2 trains, station facilities, and equipment during the four-day shutdown from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday to ensure the system's reliability and safety.
"We normally take advantage of the Holy Week to perform our yearly maintenance activities. With this, we appeal for understanding from the riding public and request that they plan their trip and take alternative transportation during this period," LRTA administrator Hernando Cabrera said. Further, the LRTA announced the LRT-2 will have shortened operating hours on Holy Wednesday, April 5, with both routes bound for Recto and Antipolo closing at 7 p.m.—Sundy Locus/AOL, GMA Integrated News
