THE low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is likely to enter the country today, Wednesday, the weather agency said.

In its 4 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the LPA was seen 1,425 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

'Despite the low chance of turning into a tropical depression, its trough or the extension of LPA may bring cloudy skies and rain showers over most parts of Mindanao and in the Eastern and Central Visayas,' Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said. Moreover, while the southwest monsoon or habagat continues to weaken, it is still bringing rains and thunderstorms in areas of Palawan and Occidental Mindoro, Pagasa said.
