The state weather bureau on Saturday morning, May 6, said scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may persist in Palawan due to a low pressure area (LPA). ManilaBulletin
Spotted 115 kilometers west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration Weather Specialist Patrick Del Mundo said this weather disturbance is embedded within the intertropical convergence zone and it may develop into a tropical cyclone in the next two days.“Pinag iingat natin ang mga kababayan natin dyan sa banta ng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa ,” said Del Mundo in a public weather forecast.
PAGASA is also monitoring another LPA outside PAR. It was last spotted 1,270 km east of northern Mindanao. It remains less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone but it may enter the Philippine boundary in the next 24-hour period. Individuals residing in Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect generally fair and humid weather conditions on Saturday due to easterlies or the warm and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean. PAGASA, however, is not ruling out the possibility of isolated rains in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.
Del Mundo said no gale warning is in effect over the country’s seaboards. This means that fishermen with small boats or other small sea vessels are allowed and safe to sail.
