The low pressure area east of Aparri, Cagayan has developed into Tropical Depression Goring, PAGASA reported Thursday.
"Tropical Depression GORING is less likely to bring heavy rainfall over the country in the next three days. However, considering the proximity of the tropical cyclone to land, any westward shift in the track forecast may result in heavy rainfall over portions of Cagayan Valley in the next three days," PAGASa reported in its Tropical Cyclone Bulleting posted at 5 a.m.
Goring, PAGASA added, is forecast to steadily intensify throughout the forecast period and may reach tropical storm category tonight or tomorrow early morning. It may be upgraded into a typhoon category by Sunday during the southward segment of its looping track.Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of Tropical Depression Goring.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.
