The lucky punter revealed how a fortuitous trip to the garage to refuel her car resulted in her scooping the life-changing prize
A lucky Lotto player from Co Kerry has revealed how a trip to a local garage to get fuel for her car lead to her scooping a €1 million EuroMillions prize.
“I usually play the Lotto, but I heard the EuroMillions promotion on the radio on my way to get fuel for the car, so I decided to buy a quick pick," she recalled. Also making the trip to Lotto HQ to claim their recent windfall of €220,603 was a Dublin woman who matched five numbers plus the bonus in the Wednesday, November 8 draw. The winner bought her ticket from Spar, North Circular Road, Phibsborough, Dublin 7, while she was out walking on a crisp morning.
The Dublin Lotto winner plans to put her winnings towards clearing her mortgage and looking after her family. "When I got home, we scratched the card and I started jumping and screaming because I thought I’d won €10,000, and at that point, I wasn’t even finished scratching the card.” Meanwhile a Meath Lotto player claimed her winnings of €25,000 on a Mega Money Multiplier scratch card, which she purchased from Brady’s Spar, Coolquay, Co. Dublin.
