LA Mission on Skid Row feeds turkey and all the extras to 1,500 homeless as celebrities and politicos stop by.
Los Angeles Mission President Troy Vaughn is known for saying that on Thanksgiving, the Skid Row mission “serves up turkeys with a side of hope and a slice of stability.” And on Wednesday, Nov. 23, Thanksgiving Eve, the mission team served an estimated crowd of more than 1,500 people who were served 3,000 pounds of turkey, 800 pounds of green beans, 700 pounds of potatoes and 600 pies.
