Los Angeles County man killed in crash near Camp Pendleton ID'd [Breaking]
A 62-year-old man killed last month in a crash on Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton has been identified as a Los Angeles County resident, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Lonnie Maddox, who lived in Carson, was a passenger in a Jeep that crashed on northbound I-5 just north of Oceanside city limits about 4:15 p.m. on April 25, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Authorities said the driver lost control while speeding and crashed off the freeway. Maddox died before he could be taken to a hospital.
The driver and another passenger were taken to a hospital in Orange County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
