Dobie's dominance of Pasadena continues in 59-12 romp
Dobie's C.J. Richard is helped off the turf by Dempsey Spears after Richard intercepted a Pasadena pass. Looking on is Tariq Riley , Jeremiah Bradley and Roderick Drumgo .After a 1-4 start to the new high school football season, Dobie found an oasis of calm and renewed confidence Thursday night.
For those who are still counting, it was Dobie's 20th consecutive win over the Eagles as they improve their overall mark to 44-9-1 since the series started in 1969. But it wasn't until the 1980s that the Longhorns finally grabbed the series advantage for the first time. Probably the highlight for new head coach Demond Stafford's crew was Jesse Mohamed-Chavez's thievery of the football that upped the lead to 22-0 after a two-point run. On offense, Pasadena was moving a stack of players forward in hopes of garnering a new first down when Mohamed-Chavez suddenly separated from the stack and began running the other way for a 35-yard touchdown.
