The Fairbanks Public Health Center's ongoing support for our community involves a variety of clinical services.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Fairbanks Public Health Center has been serving our community for over two decades, offering a variety of clinical services.
These services include Covid and flu vaccines, as well as all regular childhood immunizations. Nurses on-site also offer STI/HIV testing and treatment, as well as women’s health exams. Take-home Covid test kits are available for free. The Fairbanks Public Health Center offers a sliding fee scale for services based on family size and income. As Colette Textor, a Public Health Nurse Team Lead, shared, “All of our services here are either low or no cost, we never turn anyone away for the inability to pay.”
As far as their community service, members from Public Health visit Bread Line in Fairbanks once a week with their “Ask a Nurse” service. Bread Line is an anti-hunger organization providing a soup kitchen, kids’ cafe, and the stone soup garden. Fairbanks Public Health Clinic also lends a hand at the Interior Alaska Center for Nonviolent Living and at various community events.
