Aimed at providing community representation, this form of government combines the political power of an elected body and the managerial expertise of a city manager. Along with the mayor, these offices comprise the administrative, legislative and ceremonial heads of the city government.
Elected at-large to represent the city as a whole, the mayor has many administrative duties, including setting the agenda for City Council meetings.There are several elected officials at the county level. The county judge functions similarly to the mayor and works with the four elected members of the Commissioners Court to oversee various county-related decisions.
