KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 22 people, including four women, were detained for allegedly being involved in loan scam activities.
The suspects are believed to be members of"Geng Manggo" and were picked up in separate raids at Jalan Setapak and Jalan Genting Klang on Tuesday .
"At the first raid at Jalan Setapak, we detained six people, including three women, and seized 19 mobile phones and 14 notebooks. "Those who were duped by the suspects would then contact them on the prospect of taking loans," Comm Mazlan said."The victims would then pay up and in the end, they would not get any loan," he said.
