MANILA, Philippines — Severe tropical storm Egay has developed into a typhoon as it moves west-northwestward over the Philippine Sea, theIn its 11 p.m. Sunday bulletin, Pagasa said Egay was last spotted 490 km east-northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte, moving 10 kph and carrying sustained winds of 120 kph and gustiness of up to 150 kph.
In a statement issued on Sunday, PCG said that the heightened alert status would start on Monday in the National Capital Region ; Central, Northeastern, and Northwestern Luzon; Southern Tagalog; and Bicol Region.LEGAZPI CITY – Sea travel in some areas in the Bicol region was suspended on Sunday, July 23, as Severe Tropical Storm Egay brought rough seas along the eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.
