LIVE | Cape Town taxi strike: One person 'shot dead', three injured after motorist fires at 'assailants'

One person had died during a violent taxi strike in Cape Town. Police spokesperson Brigadier Novela Potelwa said a person had died after a motorist fired shots at"assailants" who appeared to have been stoning vehicles.

"A murder and attempted murder cases are being investigated. The identity of the deceased person is yet to be determined."Golden Arrow and MyCiTi bus services are going as far as this stop at Potsdam for local, CBD and Koeberg Road stops.Premier Alan Winde said in a statement that he was"gravely concerned at the devastating impact" of the taxi strike.

The intersection of Duinefontein and Goven Mbeki roads is reopened to traffic, along with the R300.
