Alexei Popyrin won't need to buy a beer in Melbourne for some time after this incredible victory.
The 23-year-old was in tears during his on-court interview with Casey Dellacqua after he downed No.8 seed Taylor Fritz in five sets on John Cain Arena."Oh my God, it was just crazy man. I really couldn't have done it without you guys," he said of the crowd. Popyrin had a tough year on tour in 2022, noting he has already won as many matches in only a few weeks of 2023."I wrote it down. I'm going to keep going and try and go all the way because I love this feeling and I want more of this feeling.
