A new piece of The Little Mermaid Art imagines Halle Bailey's Ariel if Disney’s upcoming remake was an animated feature instead of a live-action film.
Halle Bailey's Ariel is reimagined as an animated Disney character, in a recent piece of artwork that pictures the upcoming The Little Mermaid remake as an animated feature instead of a live-action film. The Rob Marshall-directed 2023 film sees Bailey star alongside Jonah Hauer-King, Daveed Diggs, Awkwafina, Jacob Tremblay, Melissa McCarthy, and Javier Bardem.
In the Instagram post above, Free has taken the iconic image of Ariel sitting on a rock looking to the sky to create a poster for the upcoming film. In the artwork, Bailey's Ariel is reimagined through the lens of Disney's recent animated releases, taking the art styles of Frozen, Tangled, and Encanto to envision how her version of Ariel would look in animation.
