LinkedIn Plans To Add Puzzle Games To Its Platform

LinkedIn, the social media platform for professionals, may soon offer games to give its users something to do aside from networking and job hunting. Evidence

of this was first spotted by app researcher Nima Owji, who also shared a series of screenshots of said games on X. Not long after the discovery, the company itself later confirmed with TechCrunch that such developments are currently taking place for its platform.

In a statement to the publication, LinkedIn is looking to introduce a variety of simple puzzle-based games in the same vein as Wordle. Some of these include titles such as Queens, Inference, and Crossclimb - with screenshots of each one shared by Nima Owji, as mentioned earlier.“We’re playing with adding puzzle-based games within the LinkedIn experience to unlock a bit of fun, deepen relationships, and hopefully spark the opportunity for conversations,” a company spokesperson told TechCrunch.

With reportedly over 1 billion users, it's very likely that LinkedIn's aim with this is to get people to spend more time on its platform. While it did not provide further details on the development, Nima Owji has discovered some games may involve an experimental ranking system for companies based on their employees' scores.It is unclear if these games will be available in full to free users or reserved for LinkedIn’s paid subscribers.
