PETALING JAYA: The world of badminton lost one of their biggest stars to grace the sport with the retirement of five-time world champion and two-time Olympics gold medallist Lin DanThe 36-year-old shuttler announced his retirement from the Chinese national team on social media platform Weibo on Saturday .
Lin Dan is one of the most successful players ever on the international circuit where he was unstoppable at the world championships, winning five times from 2006 to 2013. His glorious national team career also included six Thomas Cup triumphs and five Asian Games victories from 2006 to 2018.
