Lim Guan Eng, the chairman of DAP, has declined an invitation from PAS to attend a solidarity rally for Datuk Seri Najib Razak on January 6th. He stated that the Attorney General's Department has clearly outlined the proper constitutional process for granting pardons, and as former Finance Minister, he witnessed the significant financial losses suffered by the country due to the 1MDB scandal worth RM52 billion. Therefore, he believes there is no reason for him to participate in the rally. He criticized the invitation as politically senseless, lacking principles, undermining the constitutional rule of law, hypocritical, and opportunistic.
